The roads are deserted; travel has ceased. An agreement has been broken, cities  despised, and human life disregarded.


After Ehud, Shamgar son of Anath became judge. He also delivered Israel, striking down six hundred Philistines with a cattle prod.


The roads to Zion   mourn, for no one comes to the appointed festivals. All her gates are deserted; her priests groan, her young women grieve, and she herself is bitter.


I will send wild animals against you that will deprive you of your children, ravage your livestock, and reduce your numbers until your roads are deserted.


Therefore, because of you, Zion will be ploughed like a field, Jerusalem will become ruins, and the temple’s mountain will be a high thicket.


Our steps were closely followed so that we could not walk in our streets. Our end approached;  our time ran out. Our end had come!


In those times there was no peace for those who went about their daily activities because the residents of the lands had many conflicts.


Villages were deserted, they were deserted in Israel, until I,  Deborah, arose, a mother in Israel.


Don’t go out to the fields; don’t walk on the road. For the enemy has a sword; terror is on every side.
