For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’

because I have given them the words you gave me.   They have received them and have known for certain that I came from you.   They have believed that you sent me.


Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me,   because I came from God   and I am here. For I didn’t come on my own, but he sent me.


I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.’


This is the bread that comes down from heaven so that anyone may eat of it and not die.


For I have come down from heaven,   not to do my own will, but the will of him   who sent me.


No one has ascended   into heaven   except the one who descended from heaven   #– #the Son of Man.   ,


This saying is trustworthy  and deserving of full acceptance: ‘Christ Jesus came into the world  to save sinners’   #– #and I am the worst of them.


Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into his hands,  that he had come from God,  and that he was going back to God.


Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, Moses   didn’t give you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.


Therefore the Jews started grumbling about him because he said, ‘I am the bread that came down from heaven.’


This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the manna   your ancestors ate #– #and they died. The one who eats this bread will live for ever.’
