The one who comes from above  is above all. The one who is from the earth is earthly and speaks in earthly terms.  The one who comes from heaven is above all.

‘You are from below,’ he told them, ‘I am from above.   You are of this world;   I am not of this world.


Jesus came near and said to them, ‘All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.


The ancestors are theirs,  and from them, by physical descent,  came the Christ,  who is God  over all,  praised forever.  , Amen.


For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’


They are from the world.  Therefore what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them.

Now the first covenant also had regulations for ministry and an earthly sanctuary.


This is the one I told you about: “After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me, because he existed before me.”

He must increase, but I must decrease.’
