When  they arrived at the place called The Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.


Whoever does not bear his own cross   and come after me cannot be my disciple.


As  they led him away, they seized Simon, a Cyrenian,  who was coming in from the country, and laid the cross  on him to carry behind Jesus.


They dragged him out of the city and began to stone  him. And the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

Calling the crowd along with his disciples, he said to them, ‘If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself,   take up his cross,   and follow me.


Above his head they put up the charge against him in writing: This Is Jesus, the King of the Jews.


Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.


And whoever doesn’t take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.


The two wicked men came in and sat opposite him. Then the wicked men testified against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying, ‘Naboth has cursed God and the king! ’ So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.


‘Bring the one who has cursed to the outside of the camp and have all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then have the whole community stone him.


Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid it on his son Isaac.  In his hand he took the fire and the knife,  and the two of them walked on together.


By the Sheep Gate  in Jerusalem there is a pool, called Bethesda  in Aramaic, which has five colonnades.


When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus outside. He sat down on the judge’s seat in a place called the Stone Pavement (but in Aramaic,  Gabbatha).
