The one who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns darkness  into dawn and darkens day into night, who summons the water of the sea and pours it out over the surface of the earth   – the Lord is his name.


God made the two great lights #– #the greater light to rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night #– #as well as the stars.


From there, after making a circuit along the coast,  we reached Rhegium. After one day a south wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Puteoli.


The windstorm comes from its chamber, and the cold from the driving north winds.
