Indeed, the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be dark when it rises, and the moon will not shine.


And in that day – this is the declaration of the Lord  God  – I will make the sun go down at noon; I will darken the land in the daytime.


‘Immediately after the distress   of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.


He is here: the one who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, the one who makes the dawn out of darkness and strides on the heights of the earth. The Lord, the God of Armies, is his name.


All the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing, and he does what he wants  with the army of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can block his hand or say to him, ‘What have you done? ’


serve as his sign to all mankind, so that all men may know his work.


On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to the Lord in the presence of Israel: ‘Sun,  stand still over Gibeon, and moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.’


And the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took vengeance on its enemies. Isn’t this written in the Book of Jashar? So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed its setting almost a full day.
