Israel, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.


They, the house of Israel and the house of Judah, have dealt very treacherously with me. This is the  Lord’s declaration.

My people are bent on turning from me. Though they call to him on high, he will not exalt them at all.


Two or three cities staggered to another city to drink water but were not satisfied, yet you did not return  to me. This is the  Lord’s declaration.


Judah has acted treacherously, and a detestable  act has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has profaned  the Lord’s sanctuary,  , which he loves,  and has married the daughter of a foreign god.  ,


but sought the God of his father and walked by his commands, not according to the practices of Israel.
