Isaiah 38:1

In those days Hezekiah became terminally ill.  The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came and said to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Set your house in order,  for you are about to die; you will not recover.” ’

In those days Hezekiah became ill to the point of death, so he prayed to the Lord, who spoke to him and gave him a miraculous sign.


When Ahithophel realised that his advice had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and set out for his house in his home town. He set his house in order and hanged himself.  So he died and was buried in his father’s tomb.


God saw their actions #– #that they had turned from their evil ways   #– #so God relented from the disaster  he had threatened them with. And he did not do it.


About that time she became ill and died. After washing her, they placed her in a room upstairs.


Jonah set out on the first day of his walk in the city and proclaimed,  ‘In forty days Nineveh will be demolished! ’

He sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, who were covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.


The vision  concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah  son of Amoz saw during the reigns  of Kings Uzziah,  Jotham,  Ahaz,  and Hezekiah  of Judah.


Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength,  because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom  in Sheol where you are going.


He answered, ‘While the baby was alive, I fasted and wept because I thought, “Who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me and let him live.”
