Woe, you destroyer never destroyed, you traitor never betrayed! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed. When you have finished betraying, they will betray you.

For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use.


From the ends of the earth we hear songs: The Splendour of the Righteous One. But I said, ‘I waste away! I waste away! Woe is me.’ The treacherous act treacherously; the treacherous deal very treacherously.


For God has put it into their hearts to carry out his plan by having one purpose  and to give their kingdom  to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled.

If anyone is to be taken captive, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed  with a sword, with a sword he will be killed. This calls for endurance  and faithfulness from the saints.


In the evening #– #sudden terror! Before morning #– #it is gone! This is the fate of those who plunder us and the lot of those who ravage us.


Adoni-bezek said, ‘Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to pick up scraps  under my table. God has repaid me for what I have done.’ They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.


Because they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, you have given them blood to drink; they deserve it!


God sent an evil spirit  between Abimelech and the citizens of Shechem. They treated Abimelech deceitfully,


I will break Assyria  in my land; I will tread him down on my mountain. Then his yoke will be taken from them, and his burden will be removed from their shoulders.

They will not gather wood from the countryside or cut it down from the forests, for they will use the weapons to make fires. They will take the loot from those who looted them and plunder those who plundered them.  This is the declaration of the Lord God.


for the Lord will champion their cause and will plunder those who plunder them.


Yes, at that time I will deal with all who oppress you. I will save the lame  and gather the outcasts; I will make those who were disgraced throughout the earth receive praise and fame.
