Come, let’s return to the  Lord. For he has torn us, and he will heal us; he has wounded us, and he will bind up our wounds.


Afterwards, the people of Israel will return  and seek the Lord their God and David their king.  They will come with awe to the Lord   and to his goodness in the last days.


Those who are confused will gain understanding, and those who grumble will accept instruction.


You made a reservoir between the walls  for the water of the ancient pool,  but you did not look to the one who made it, or consider the one who created it long ago.


The Lord will strike Egypt, striking and healing. Then they will turn to the Lord, and he will be receptive to their prayers and heal them.


When all this was completed, all Israel who had attended went out to the cities of Judah and broke up the sacred pillars, chopped down the Asherah poles, and tore down the high places and altars  throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, to the last one.  Then all the Israelites returned to their cities, each to his own possession.


They look, but there is no one to save them – they look to the  Lord, but he does not answer them.


The Lord says: As the shepherd snatches two legs or a piece of an ear from the lion’s mouth, so the Israelites who live in Samaria will be rescued with only the corner of a bed or the  cushion  of a couch.  ,
