A fire devours in front of them, and behind them a flame blazes. The land in front of them is like the garden of Eden, but behind them, it is like a desert wasteland; there is no escape from them.


I will stretch out my hand against them,  and wherever they live I will make the land a desolate waste, from the wilderness to Riblah.  Then they will know that I am the Lord.’


Your holy cities have become a wilderness; Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

This is what the Lord of Armies says: Israelites and Judeans alike have been oppressed. All their captors hold them fast; they refuse to release them.


Her graves are set in the deepest regions of the Pit, and her assembly is all around her burial place. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword – those who once spread terror in the land of the living.


They are fierce  and terrifying; their views of justice and sovereignty stem from themselves.
