But finding fault with his people, he says: See, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah –
‘I will make a permanent covenant with them: I will never turn away from doing good to them, and I will put fear of me in their hearts so that they will never again turn away from me.
Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant, , so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
