If a man is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does it become holy? ’ The priests answered, ‘No.’

Blind people!   For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift?


Anything that touches its flesh will become holy, and if any of its blood spatters on a garment, then you must wash that garment  in a holy place.


Before they go out to the outer court,  to the people, they must take off the clothes they have been ministering in, leave them in the holy chambers, and dress in other clothes  so that they do not transmit holiness to the people through their clothes.


Any male among the priests may eat it.  It is to be eaten in a holy place;  it is especially holy.

For seven days you must make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. The altar will be especially holy. Whatever touches the altar will be consecrated.


They will teach your ordinances to Jacob and your instruction to Israel; they will set incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar.


Dead flies make a perfumer’s oil ferment and stink; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honour.
