‘So now, let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and set him over the land of Egypt.
So Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one as discerning and wise as you are.
Brothers and sisters, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and wisdom, whom we can appoint to this duty.
Therefore, may my advice seem good to you, my king. Separate yourself from your sins by doing what is right, and from your injustices by showing mercy to the needy. Perhaps there will be an extension of your prosperity.’
Appoint for yourselves wise, understanding, and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will make them your leaders.
Let Pharaoh do this: let him appoint overseers over the land and take a fifth of the harvest of the land of Egypt during the seven years of abundance.
