Reuben also said to them, ‘Don’t shed blood. Throw him into this pit in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him’ #– #intending to rescue him from them and return him to his father.

About that time King Herod violently attacked some who belonged to the church,


When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood.  See to it yourselves! ’


Instead, you must kill him. Your hand is to be the first against him to put him to death, and then the hands of all the people.


God did not harm  the Israelite nobles; they saw  him, and they ate and drank.


But Reuben replied, ‘Didn’t I tell you not to harm the boy?  But you wouldn’t listen. Now we must account for his blood! ’


Then he said, ‘Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.’


When Reuben heard this, he tried to save him from them.  He said, ‘Let’s not take his life.’


When Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped off Joseph’s robe, the long-sleeved robe that he had on.


Even though Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah had urged the king not to burn the scroll, he did not listen to them.
