Israel said to Joseph, ‘Your brothers, you know, are pasturing the flocks at Shechem. Get ready. I’m sending you to them.’ ‘I’m ready,’ Joseph replied.

but Eli called him and said, ‘Samuel, my son.’ ‘Here I am,’ answered Samuel.


Once again, for the third time, the Lord called Samuel. He got up, went to Eli, and said, ‘Here I am; you called me.’ Then Eli understood that the Lord was calling the boy.


When he came to his father, he said, ‘My father.’ And he answered, ‘Here I am. Who are you, my son? ’


When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could not see,  he called his elder son Esau and said to him, ‘My son.’ And he answered, ‘Here I am.’


After these things God tested Abraham  and said to him, ‘Abraham! ’ ‘Here I am,’ he answered.


After Jacob came from Paddan-aram, he arrived safely  at Shechem  in the land of Canaan and camped in front of the city.


His brothers had gone to pasture their father’s flocks at Shechem.


But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, ‘Abraham, Abraham! ’ He replied, ‘Here I am.’
