Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time God had told him.

By faith even Sarah herself, when she was unable to have children, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she  considered that the one who had promised was faithful.


For it is written that Abraham  had two sons, one by a slave  and the other by a free woman.


And so he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. After this, he fathered Isaac and circumcised  him on the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.


And consider your relative Elizabeth #– #even she has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called childless.


Is anything impossible for the Lord?  At the appointed time I will come back to you, and in about a year she will have a son.’


The Lord said, ‘I will certainly come back to you in about a year’s time, and your wife Sarah will have a son! ’  Now Sarah was listening at the entrance of the tent behind him.


But God said, ‘No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac.  I will confirm my covenant with him as a permanent covenant for his future offspring.


But I will confirm my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time next year.’


For this is the statement of the promise: At this time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.   ,


But I took your father Abraham from the region beyond the River Euphrates, led him throughout the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants.  I gave him Isaac,
