Hang the curtain under the clasps  and bring the ark of the testimony there behind the curtain, so the curtain will make a separation for you between the holy place  and the most holy place.

The Lord said to Moses, ‘Tell your brother Aaron that he may not come whenever he wants into the holy place  behind the curtain  in front of the mercy seat  on the ark or else he will die, because I appear in the cloud  above the mercy seat.


He brought the ark into the tabernacle, put up the curtain for the screen, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the Lord had commanded him.


Put the tablets of  the testimony that I will give you into the ark.


When the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the Lord’s temple,


The priests brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the most holy place  beneath the wings of the cherubim.


He made four pillars of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold. And he cast four silver bases for the pillars.


including twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, with silver hooks and silver bands  for the posts.


Hang it on four gold-plated pillars of acacia wood that have gold hooks and that stand on four silver bases.


In the tent of meeting outside the curtain that is in front of the testimony,  Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamp  from evening until morning before the Lord. This is to be a permanent statute  for the Israelites throughout their generations.


Put the ark  of the testimony there and screen off the ark with the curtain.


Then he lined nine metres of the rear of the temple with cedar boards from the floor to the surface of the ceiling,  and he built the interior as an inner sanctuary, the most holy place.


Then he made the most holy place; its length corresponded to the width of the temple, nine metres, and its width was nine metres.  He overlaid it with twenty tonnes  of fine gold.


He then measured the length of the room adjacent to the great hall, 10.6 metres, and the width, 10.6 metres.  And he said to me, ‘This is the most holy place.’
