stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and bless you.  For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring,  and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.


Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are forcing to work as slaves, and I have remembered  my covenant.


and the Lord appeared to him that night and said, ‘I am the God of your father Abraham.  Do not be afraid, for I am with you.  I will bless you and multiply your offspring because of my servant Abraham.’


Whenever the Lord raised up a judge for the Israelites, the Lord was with  him and saved the people from the power of their enemies while the judge was still alive. The Lord was moved to pity whenever they groaned because of those who were oppressing and afflicting them.


Abraham is to become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him.


I will confirm my covenant that is between me and you and your future offspring throughout their generations. It is a permanent covenant  to be your God and the God of your offspring after you.


‘Your name will no longer be Jacob,’  he said. ‘It will be Israel  because you have struggled with God  and with men and have prevailed.’


I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free. And now, come, I will send you to Egypt.   ,


God remembered Noah,  as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth,  and the water began to subside.


Then the Lord said to Abram,  ‘Know this for certain: your offspring will be resident foreigners  for four hundred years  in a land that does not belong to them and will be enslaved and oppressed.


The angel of the Lord said to her, ‘You have conceived and will have a son. You will name him Ishmael,  for the Lord has heard your cry of affliction.


and said, ‘By myself I have sworn,’  this is the Lord’s declaration: ‘Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son,


The Lord appeared to him and said, ‘Do not go down to Egypt. Live in the land that I tell you about;


God also said to him, ‘I am God Almighty.  Be fruitful and multiply.  A nation, indeed an assembly of nations, will come from you,  and kings will descend from you.  ,


I will give to you the land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac.  And I will give the land to your future descendants.’


When we cried out to the Lord, he heard our plea,  and sent an angel,  , and brought us out of Egypt. Now look, we are in Kadesh, a city on the border of your territory.


‘At this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him ruler over my people Israel.  He will save them from the Philistines because I have seen the affliction of my people,  for their cry has come to me.’


but the Lord was gracious to them, had compassion on them,  and turned towards them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  He was not willing to destroy them. Even now he has not banished them from his presence.
