Moses said, ‘This is what the Lord has commanded: “Two litres  of it are to be preserved throughout your generations, so that they may see the bread I fed you in the wilderness when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.” ’

And he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said, ‘This is my body,   which is given for you. Do this in remembrance   of me.’


For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away.

This is what the Lord has commanded: “Gather as much of it as each person needs to eat. You may take two litres  per individual, according to the number of people each of you has in his tent.” ’


The house of Israel named the substance manna.  , It resembled coriander seed, was white, and tasted like wafers made with honey.


Moses told Aaron, ‘Take a container and put two litres  of manna in it. Then place it before the Lord to be preserved throughout your generations.’


However, I did give them this command: “Obey me, and then I will be your God, and you will be my people. Follow every way I command you so that it may go well with you.”


I led them with human cords, with ropes of love. To them I was like one who eases the yoke from their jaws; I bent down to give them food.
