Esther answered, ‘If it pleases the king, may the Jews who are in Susa also have tomorrow  to carry out today’s law,  and may the bodies of Haman’s ten sons  be hung on the gallows.’


The Jews in Susa assembled again on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar  and killed three hundred men in Susa, but they did not seize any plunder.


Then Balaam saw Amalek and proclaimed his poem: Amalek was first among the nations, but his future is destruction.


I issue a decree that any of the Israelites in my kingdom, including their priests and Levites, who want to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.


Harbona, one of the king’s eunuchs,  said, ‘There is a gallows twenty-three metres  tall at Haman’s house that he made for Mordecai,  who gave the report that saved  the king.’ The king said, ‘Hang him on it.’


They hanged Haman on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai.  Then the king’s anger subsided.


The wicked are overthrown and perish, but the house of the righteous will stand.


A man may father a hundred children and live for many years. No matter how long he lives,  if he is not satisfied by good things and does not even have a proper burial,  I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.


Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us,  because it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.   ,
