Don’t work for the food that perishes   but for the food that lasts for eternal life,   which the Son of Man   will give you, because God the Father   has set his seal of approval on him.’


A worker’s appetite works for him because his hunger  urges him on.


‘Therefore I tell you:   Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?


Then I’ll say to myself, ‘You have many goods stored up for many years. Take it easy;   eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.’ ”


A man may father a hundred children and live for many years. No matter how long he lives,  if he is not satisfied by good things and does not even have a proper burial,  I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.


The one who loves silver is never satisfied with silver, and whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with income. This too is futile.


What advantage then does the wise person have over the fool?  What advantage is there for the poor person who knows how to conduct himself before others?


All things  are wearisome, more than anyone can say. The eye is not satisfied by seeing or the ear filled with hearing.


The profit from the land is taken by all; the king is served by the field.  ,
