What does a person gain for all his efforts that he labours at under the sun?


The one who brings ruin on his household will inherit the wind, and a fool will be a slave to someone whose heart is wise.


Don’t work for the food that perishes   but for the food that lasts for eternal life,   which the Son of Man   will give you, because God the Father   has set his seal of approval on him.’


For what does it benefit   someone to gain   the whole world   and yet lose   his life?


Indeed, they sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. There is no standing corn; what sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it did, foreigners would swallow it up.


The priests stopped asking, ‘Where is the  Lord? ’ The experts in the law no longer knew me, and the rulers  rebelled against me. The prophets prophesied by   Baal and followed useless idols.


We became pregnant, we writhed in pain; we gave birth to wind. We have won no victories on earth, and the earth’s inhabitants have not fallen.


There is a sickening tragedy I have seen under the sun: wealth kept by its owner to his harm.


Don’t turn away to follow worthless  things that can’t profit or rescue you; they are worthless.


also to submit to such people, and to everyone who works and labours with them.


When I considered all that I had accomplished  and what I had laboured to achieve, I found everything to be futile and a pursuit of the wind.  , There was nothing to be gained under the sun.


What does the worker gain from his struggles?
