For to the person who is pleasing in his sight, he gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy;  but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and accumulating in order to give to the one who is pleasing in God’s sight.  This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his   grandchildren, but the sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.


Whoever increases his wealth through excessive interest collects it for one who is kind to the poor.


Until now you have asked for nothing in my name.   Ask and you will receive,   so that your joy may be complete.


But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretence.


Both were righteous in God’s sight,  living blamelessly  according to all the commands and requirements of the Lord.


But it is the spirit in a person – the breath  from the Almighty – that gives anyone understanding.


Then the Lord said to Noah, ‘Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.


I have seen all the things that are done under the sun and have found everything to be futile, a pursuit of the wind.  ,


Who put wisdom  in the heart or gave the mind understanding?


For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.


I applied my mind to examine  and explore through wisdom all that is done under heaven.  God has given people  this miserable task to keep them occupied.


because who can eat and who can enjoy life  apart from him?


I have seen the task that God has given the children of Adam to keep them occupied.
