The Lord commissioned Joshua son of Nun, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I swore to them, and I will be with you.’
The Lord said to Moses, ‘The time of your death is now approaching. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the tent of meeting so that I may commission him.’ When Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the tent of meeting,
Our ancestors in turn received it and with Joshua brought it in when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before them, until the days of David.
But commission Joshua and encourage and strengthen him, for he will cross over ahead of the people and enable them to inherit this land that you will see.”
The Lord your God is the one who will cross ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will drive them out. Joshua is the one who will cross ahead of you, as the Lord has said.
He answered, ‘I will certainly be with you, and this will be the sign to you that I am the one who sent you: when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will all worship God at this mountain.’
Is the land fertile or unproductive? Are there trees in it or not? Be courageous. Bring back some fruit from the land.’ It was the season for the first ripe grapes.
Even so, be strong, Zerubbabel #– #this is the Lord’s declaration. Be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land #– #this is the Lord’s declaration. Work! For I am with you #– #the declaration of the Lord of Armies.
Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you.’
