Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took over the entire region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites. He called Bashan by his own name, Jair’s Villages,  as it is today.

Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, went and captured their villages, which he renamed Jair’s Villages.  ,


But Absalom fled and went to Talmai son of Ammihud, king of Geshur.  And David mourned for his son  every day.

So Joab got up, went to Geshur, and brought Absalom  to Jerusalem.


So they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah. The commanders included Ishmael  son of Nethaniah, Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maacathite #– #they and their men.


and in addition, Ira the Jairite was David’s priest.
