Yet the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but he turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves  you.

What, then, are we to say about these things?  If God is for us, who is against us?


He crouches, he lies down like a lion or a lioness #– #who dares to rouse him? Those who bless you will be blessed, and those who curse you will be cursed.


For our momentary light affliction  is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.


Regarding the gospel, they are enemies for your advantage,  but regarding election, they are loved because of the patriarchs,

As it is written: I have loved Jacob, but I have hated Esau.   ,


Then the angel of the Lord said to Balaam, ‘Go with the men, but you are to say only what I tell you.’ So Balaam went with Balak’s officials.


‘I have loved you,’  says the Lord. Yet you ask, ‘How have you loved us? ’ ‘Wasn’t Esau Jacob’s brother? ’  This is the Lord’s declaration. ‘Even so, I loved Jacob,


Because he loved  your ancestors, he chose their descendants after them and brought you out of Egypt by his presence and great power,


but I would not listen to Balaam. Instead, he repeatedly blessed you, and I rescued you from him.


Perhaps the Lord will see my affliction  and restore goodness to me instead of Shimei’s curses today.’


because they did not meet the Israelites with food and water. Instead, they hired Balaam against them to curse them,  but our God turned the curse into a blessing.


he sent messengers to Balaam  son of Beor at Pethor, which is by the Euphrates in the land of his people.  , Balak said to him, ‘Look, a people has come out of Egypt; they cover the surface of the land  and are living right opposite me.


just as the descendants of Esau who live in Seir did for us, and the Moabites who live in Ar, until we cross the Jordan into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”
