So Jesus said to them, ‘When you lift up the Son of Man,   then you will know that I am   he, and that I do nothing on my own.   But just as the Father taught me, I say these things.


‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers.  You must listen to him.


The woman said to him, ‘I know that the Messiah  is coming’ (who is called Christ  ). ‘When he comes, he will explain everything to us.’


‘What things? ’ he asked them. So they said to him, ‘The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth,  who was a prophet  powerful in action and speech  before God and all the people,


Philip found Nathanael  and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law (and so did the prophets  ): Jesus the son of Joseph,  from Nazareth.’


‘See, I am going to send my messenger,  and he will clear the way before me.  Then the Lord you seek  will suddenly come to his temple,  the Messenger of the covenant you delight in #– #see, he is coming,’ says the Lord of Armies.


I have put my words in your mouth, and covered you in the shadow of my hand, in order to plant  the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’


because I have given them the words you gave me.   They have received them and have known for certain that I came from you.   They have believed that you sent me.


For there is one God  and one mediator  between God and mankind, the man  Christ Jesus,


As you sent me into the world,   I also have sent them into the world.


I do not call you servants any more, because a servant doesn’t know what his master   , is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father.


Because of this oath, Jesus has also become the guarantee of a better covenant.


The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are instructed to know how to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens me each morning; he awakens my ear to listen like those being instructed.


So he became King in Jeshurun  , when the leaders of the people gathered with the tribes of Israel.


Then Moses cried out to the Lord, ‘God, please heal her! ’


At that time I was standing between the Lord and you to report the word  of the Lord to you, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain. And he said:


‘What then? ’ they asked him. ‘Are you Elijah? ’ ‘I am not,’ he said. ‘Are you the Prophet? ’ ‘No,’ he answered.


So they asked him, ‘Why then do you baptise if you aren’t the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet? ’


The one who rejects me   and doesn’t receive my sayings has this as his judge:   The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.


Moses said:  The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you.


‘This is the Moses who said to the Israelites: God   will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.   ,


Now go! I will help you speak  and I will teach you what to say.’


You will speak with him and tell him what to say.  I will help both you and him to speak  and will teach you both what to do.


Then the Lord put a message in Balaam’s mouth and said, ‘Return to Balak and say what I tell you.’


No prophet has arisen again in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.


Pay attention to me, my people, and listen to me, my nation; for instruction will come from me, and my justice for a light to the nations. I will bring it about quickly.


Then the Lord reached out his hand, touched my mouth,  and told me: I have now filled your mouth with my words.


I raised up some of your sons as prophets and some of your young men as Nazirites. Is this not the case, Israelites? This is the  Lord’s declaration.


The Lord met with Balaam and put a message in his mouth. Then he said, ‘Return to Balak and say what I tell you.’


Ephraim has provoked bitter anger, so his Lord will leave his bloodguilt on him and repay him for his contempt.
