However, he must not acquire many horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire many horses, for the Lord has told you, “You are never to go back that way again.”

However, this king revolted against him  by sending his ambassadors to Egypt so that they might give him horses and a large army.  Will he flourish? Will the one who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still escape?


The Lord will take you back in ships to Egypt by a route that I said you would never see again.  There you will sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.’

Solomon  had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.  He stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.


So he led the people around towards the Red Sea along the road of the wilderness. And the Israelites left the land of Egypt in battle formation.


Solomon’s horses came from Egypt and Kue.  The king’s traders would get them from Kue at the going price.


Their  , land is full of silver and gold, and there is no limit to their treasures; their land is full of horses, and there is no limit to their chariots.


The Lord has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah: “Don’t go to Egypt.” Know for certain that I have warned you today!


In that day – this is the  Lord’s declaration – I will remove your horses from you and wreck your chariots.


‘Therefore, command that cedars from Lebanon be cut down for me. My servants will be with your servants, and I will pay your servants’ wages according to whatever you say, for you know that not a man among us knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.’
