You may collect something from a foreigner, but you must forgive whatever your brother owes you.

You may charge a foreigner interest, but you must not charge your brother Israelite interest, so that the Lord your God may bless you in everything you do  in the land you are entering to possess.


Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work  for the good  of all, especially for those who belong to the household  of faith.


A slave does not remain in the household for ever,   but a son does remain for ever.


‘If you lend silver to my people, to the poor person among you, you must not be like a creditor to him; you must not charge him interest.


This is how to cancel debt: Every creditor  is to cancel what he has lent his neighbour. He is not to collect anything from his neighbour or brother, because the Lord’s release of debts has been proclaimed.


‘If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to keep it, because he will require it of you, and it will be counted against you as sin.
