While the words were still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven: ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared that the kingdom has departed from you.
But at the end of those days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity returned to me. Then I praised the Most High and honoured and glorified him who lives for ever: For his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation.
For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.
but now your reign will not endure. The Lord has found a man after his own heart, , and the Lord has appointed him as ruler over his people, because you have not done what the Lord commanded.’
You will be driven away from people to live with the wild animals, and you will feed on grass like cattle for seven periods of time, until you acknowledge that the Most High is ruler over human kingdoms, and he gives them to anyone he wants.’
Then I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the water of the river. He raised both his hands , towards heaven and swore by him who lives eternally that it would be for a time, times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people is shattered, all these things will be completed.
