Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.


They will stand far off in fear of her torment,  saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the mighty city! For in a single hour your judgement has come.


On her forehead was written a name, a mystery:  Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and of the Detestable Things of the Earth.


For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.’


Speak to him and say, “This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster  , lying in the middle of his Nile, who says, ‘My Nile is my own; I made it for myself.’


The great city  split into three parts, and the cities of the nations  fell. Babylon the Great was remembered in God’s presence; he gave her the cup filled with the wine of his fierce anger.


In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with  humility towards one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.   ,


Then a mighty angel  picked up a stone like a large millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, In this way, Babylon the great city will be thrown down violently and never be found again.


So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.


He displayed the glorious wealth of his kingdom and the magnificent splendour of his greatness  for a total of 180 days.


His kingdom started with Babylon,  Erech,  Accad,  and Calneh,  in the land of Shinar.  ,


And another, a second angel, followed, saying, ‘It has fallen, Babylon the Great  has fallen.  She made all the nations drink the wine of her sexual immorality,  which brings wrath.’


A person’s pride will humble him, but a humble spirit will gain honour.


And Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms, the glory of the pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God overthrew them.


While the words were still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven: ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared that the kingdom has departed from you.


Then they sweep  by like the wind and pass through. They are guilty;  their strength is their god.


When arrogance comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom.


The one who invited both of you may come and say to you, “Give your place to this man,” and then in humiliation, you will proceed to take the lowest place.
