But leave the stump with its roots in the ground and with a band of iron and bronze round it in the tender grass of the field. Let him be drenched with dew from the sky and share the plants of the earth with the animals.


The son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I’m no longer worthy to be called your son.”


I’ll get up, go to my father, and say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned   against heaven   and in your sight.


When the disciples saw it, they were amazed and said, ‘How did the fig tree wither so quickly? ’


But I tell you, don’t take an oath at all: either by heaven, because it is God’s throne;


‘The king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, “Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump with its roots in the ground and with a band of iron and bronze round it in the tender grass of the field. Let him be drenched with dew from the sky and share food with the wild animals for seven periods of time.”


Your Majesty, you are king of kings.  The God of the heavens has given you sovereignty, power,  strength, and glory.


urging them to ask the God of the heavens  for mercy  concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be destroyed with the rest of Babylon’s wise men.


The mystery was then revealed to Daniel in a vision  at night, and Daniel praised the God of the heavens


While the words were still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven: ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared that the kingdom has departed from you.


Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and glorify the King of the heavens, because all his works are true and his ways are just.  He is able to humble  those who walk in pride.


But when his heart was exalted and his spirit became arrogant,  he was deposed from his royal throne and his glory was taken from him.


He was driven away from people,  his mind was like an animal’s, he lived with the wild donkeys,  he was fed grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with dew from the sky until he acknowledged that the Most High God is ruler over human kingdoms and sets anyone he wants over them.
