His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple fortress. They will abolish the regular sacrifice  and set up the abomination of desolation.


‘So when you see the abomination of desolation,   spoken of by the prophet Daniel,   standing in the holy place’   (let the reader understand),


‘When you see the abomination of desolation   , standing where it should not be’ (let the reader understand), ‘then those in Judea   must flee to the mountains.


He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing  of the temple  , until the decreed destruction


The beast was given a mouth to utter boasts and blasphemies.  It was allowed to exercise authority  , for forty-two months.


But exclude the courtyard outside the temple.  Don’t measure it, because it is given to the nations,  , and they will trample the holy city  for forty-two months.


He will speak words against the Most High  and oppress  the holy ones  of the Most High. He will intend to change religious festivals  and laws,  and the holy ones will be handed over to him for a time, times, and half a time.  ,


The vision of the evenings and the mornings that has been told is true. Now you are to seal up the vision because it refers to many days in the future.’


‘Please test your servants for ten days. Let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink.


The woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God,  to be nourished there  for 1,260 days.


When you have completed these days, lie down again, but on your right side, and bear the iniquity of the house of Judah. I have assigned you forty days, a day for each year.


For the Israelites must live many days without king or prince,  without sacrifice  or sacred pillar,  and without ephod  or household idols.


‘This is what you are to offer regularly on the altar every day: two year-old lambs.
