Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine beside a spring; its branches  climb over the wall.


Don’t continue drinking only water, but use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.


So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it.


Rejoice with those who rejoice;  weep with those who weep.

Listen to this message, you cows of Bashan who are on the hill of Samaria, women who oppress the poor and crush the needy, who say to their husbands, ‘Bring us something to drink.’


Woe to the majestic crown of Ephraim’s drunkards, and to the fading flower of its beautiful splendour, which is on the summit above the rich valley. Woe to those overcome with wine.
