Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,


Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you,   insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man.


For it has been granted to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe  in him, but also to suffer for him,


But they will do all these things to you on account of my name,   because they don’t know   the one who sent me.


So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.


keeping our eyes on Jesus,  the pioneer and perfecter  of our faith. For the joy that lay before him,  he endured the cross, despising the shame,  and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.


You who tremble at his word, hear the word of the  Lord: ‘Your brothers who hate and exclude you for my name’s sake have said, “Let the Lord be glorified so that we can see your joy! ” But they will be put to shame.’


And not only that,  but we also boast in our afflictions,  because we know that affliction produces endurance,


For you sympathised with the prisoners  and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, because you know that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.  ,


Look! My servants will shout for joy from a glad heart, but you will cry out from an anguished heart, and you will lament out of a broken spirit.


I rejoice greatly in the  Lord, I exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a groom wears a turban and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.


Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my instruction: do not fear disgrace by men, and do not be shattered by their taunts.


Hearing this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach. When the high priest and those who were with him arrived, they convened the Sanhedrin #– #the full council of the Israelites #– #and sent orders to the jail to have them brought.


Then Paul replied, ‘What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.’


since they set out for the sake of the Name,  accepting nothing from pagans.  ,
