When the governor motioned for him to speak, Paul replied, ‘Because I know you have been a judge of this nation for many years, I am glad to offer my defence in what concerns me.

but in your hearts regard  Christ  the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defence to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.


Agrippa said to Paul, ‘You have permission to speak for yourself.’ Then Paul stretched out his hand and began his defence:


Also provide mounts to ride so that Paul may be brought safely to Felix the governor.’


After he had given permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned with his hand to the people. When there was a great hush, he addressed them in Aramaic:  ,


Some Jews in the crowd gave instructions to Alexander  after they pushed him to the front. Motioning with his hand, Alexander wanted to make his defence to the people.


But if these are questions about words, names, and your own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of such things.’


Paul stood up and motioned with his hand and said, ‘Fellow Israelites, and you who fear God, listen!


Motioning to them with his hand  to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. ‘Tell these things to James  and the brothers,’ he said, and he left and went to another place.


‘There was a judge in a certain town who didn’t fear God   or respect people.


‘Friend,’   he said to him, ‘who appointed me a judge or arbitrator over you? ’


If one person sins against another, God can intercede for him, but if a person sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him? ’  But they would not listen to their father, since the Lord intended to kill them.


Whenever   they bring you before synagogues and rulers and authorities,   don’t worry   about how you should defend   yourselves or what you should say.
