I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? ”


The crowd standing there heard it and said it was thunder. Others said, ‘An angel has spoken to him.’


and when they had left they talked with each other and said, ‘This man is not doing anything to deserve death or imprisonment.’


I found that he had not done anything deserving of death, but when he himself appealed to the Emperor, I decided to send him.


I found out that the accusations were concerning questions of their law,  and that there was no charge that merited death or imprisonment.


When the scribes  who were Pharisees  , saw that he was eating  with sinners  and tax collectors,  they asked his disciples, ‘Why does he eat  with tax collectors and sinners? ’


When a person’s ways please the  Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.


Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?


For last night an angel of the God I belong to and serve stood by me


For the Sadducees say there is no resurrection,  and neither angel nor spirit, but the Pharisees affirm them all.


If, then, God gave them the same gift that he also gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I possibly hinder God? ’


Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? ’


but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even be found fighting against God.’ They were persuaded by him.


A third time he said to them, ‘Why? What has this man done wrong?  I have found in him no grounds  for the death penalty. Therefore, I will have him whipped and then release him.’


Pilate then told the chief priests and the crowds, ‘I find no grounds  for charging this man.’


But the Pharisees and their scribes  were complaining to his disciples, ‘Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? ’


and said to David, ‘You are more righteous than I, for you have done what is good to me though I have done what is evil to you.


He said to them, ‘The Lord is a witness against you, and his anointed is a witness today that you haven’t found anything  in my hand.’ ‘He is a witness,’ they said.


Then the officials and all the people told the priests and prophets, ‘This man doesn’t deserve the death sentence, for he has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God! ’


‘As  I was travelling and approaching Damascus, about noon an intense light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
