For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and were trying to kill me.


While I was doing this, some Jews from Asia found me ritually purified in the temple, without a crowd and without any uproar.


But the Jews incited the prominent God-fearing women and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and expelled them from their district.


While Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack against Paul and brought him to the tribunal.


But when the Jews from Thessalonica found out that the word of God had been proclaimed by Paul at Berea, they came there too, agitating and upsetting  the crowds.


Some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and when they won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, thinking he was dead.


When an attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to mistreat and stone them,


But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.


They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; so they came, seized him, and took him to the Sanhedrin.


So they arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.


So they seized them and took them into custody until the next day since it was already evening.


But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you   and persecute   you. They will hand you over to the synagogues   and prisons,   and you will be brought before kings and governors   because of my name.


Still, there was no one like Ahab, who devoted himself to do what was evil in the Lord’s sight, because his wife Jezebel incited him.
