For you remember our labour and hardship, brothers and sisters. Working night and day so that we would not burden any of you, we preached God’s gospel to you.
When I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, since the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my needs. I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.
For my part I have used none of these rights, nor have I written these things so that they may be applied in my case. For it would be better for me to die than for anyone to deprive me of my boast!
