But Paul chose Silas and departed, after being commended by the brothers and sisters to the grace of the Lord.

Then the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, decided to select men who were among them and to send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas, called Barsabbas, and Silas,  both leading men among the brothers.


From there they sailed back to Antioch where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work they had now completed.


When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged all of them to remain true to the Lord with devoted hearts,


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace towards me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.


All those who are with me send you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with all of you.


The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you all.


‘And now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace,  which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance  among all who are sanctified.


Both Judas and Silas, who were also prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers and sisters and strengthened them with a long message.


Then after they had fasted, prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them off.


When her owners realised that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas  and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities.


Some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, including a large number of God-fearing Greeks, as well as a number of the leading women.
