When the Arameans came against him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, ‘Please strike this nation with blindness.’  So he struck them with blindness,  according to Elisha’s word.

Now, look, the Lord’s hand is against you.  You are going to be blind, and will not see the sun for a time.’ Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.


He has blinded   their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they would not see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.   ,


They struck the men who were at the entrance of the house, both young and old, with blindness  so that they were unable to find the entrance.


Jesus said, ‘I came into this world   for judgement,   in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.’


What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for,  but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,


On that day’ #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #‘I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness.  I will keep a watchful eye on  the house of Judah but strike all the horses of the nations with blindness.


They encounter darkness by day, and they grope at noon as if it were night.


The Lord will afflict you with madness, blindness, and mental confusion,


Then Elisha said to them, ‘This is not the way, and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will take you to the man you’re looking for.’ And he led them to Samaria.


But I will have compassion on the house of Judah, and I will deliver them by the  Lord  their God. I will not deliver them by bow, sword, or war, or by horses and cavalry.
