Instead, be loyal to the Lord your God, as you have been to this day.


You are to fear the Lord your God and worship him. Remain faithful  to him and take oaths in his name.

They abandoned all the commands of the Lord their God. They made cast images  for themselves, two calves, and an Asherah pole.  They bowed in worship to all the stars in the sky  and served Baal.


If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.


Even Judah did not keep the commands of the Lord their God  but lived according to the customs Israel had practised.


He said, ‘Please, Lord, remember how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly,  and have done what pleases you.’  And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


‘And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you except to fear  the Lord your God by walking in all his ways, to love him, and to worship the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul?


‘Please, Lord, remember  how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly and have done what pleases you.’  , And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
