Now if you’re ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, drum, and every kind of music, fall down and worship the statue I made. Lord, it is true that the kings of Assyria have devastated the nations and their lands.


But Pharaoh responded, ‘Who is the Lord that I should obey him by letting Israel go?  I don’t know  the Lord, and besides, I will not let Israel go.’


But the people kept silent; they did not answer him at all, for the king’s command was, ‘Don’t answer him.’


Perhaps the Lord your God  will hear  all the words of the royal spokesman, whom his master the king of Assyria sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke  him for the words that the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the surviving remnant.” ’


I have been the Lord your God ever since  the land of Egypt; you know no God but me, and no Saviour exists besides me.


Look, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries: They completely destroyed them. Will you be rescued?
