In fact, when we came into Macedonia,  we  had no rest. Instead, we were troubled in every way: conflicts  on the outside, fears  within.

I had no rest  in my spirit because I did not find my brother Titus.  Instead, I said goodbye to them and left for Macedonia.


Outside, the sword will take their children, and inside, there will be terror; the young man and the young woman will be killed, the infant and the grey-haired man.

I wrote this very thing so that when I came I wouldn’t have pain from those who ought to give me joy, because I am confident  about all of you that my joy will also be yours.

I face death every day,  as surely as I may boast about you, brothers and sisters, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Terrors frighten him on every side and harass him at every step.


but the dove found no resting place for its foot. It returned to him in the ark because water covered the surface of the whole earth. He reached out and brought it into the ark to himself.


because Macedonia  and Achaia  were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
