Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ #– #I who am humble among you in person but bold towards you when absent.

For it is said, ‘His letters are weighty and powerful, but his physical presence is weak and his public speaking amounts to nothing.’


Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,   because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.


Take note! I, Paul, am telling you that if you have yourselves circumcised, Christ will not benefit you at all.


Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you  to present your bodies as a living sacrifice,  holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.


If boasting is necessary, I will boast about my weaknesses.


I came to you in weakness,  in fear,  and in much trembling.


I, John, your brother and partner in the affliction,  kingdom,  and endurance  that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.


Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles  to abstain  from sinful  desires that wage war against the soul.


I appeal to you, instead, on the basis of love. I, Paul, as an elderly man  and now also as a prisoner  of Christ Jesus,


I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand,  which is an authenticating mark in every letter; this is how I write.


Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord,  urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received,


you know  that previously I preached the gospel to you because of a weakness of the flesh.


I will boast about this person, but not about myself, except of my weaknesses.


I say this to our shame: We have been too weak for that! But in whatever anyone dares to boast #– #I am talking foolishly #– #I also dare:


Look at what is obvious.  If anyone is confident that he belongs to Christ,  let him remind himself of this: Just as he belongs to Christ, so do we.


I beg you that when I am present I will not need to be bold with the confidence by which I plan to challenge certain people who think we are living according to the flesh.


I am very frank with you; I have great pride in you. I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in all our afflictions.


Working together with him, we also appeal to you, ‘Don’t receive the grace of God in vain.’


Therefore, we are ambassadors  for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,  ‘Be reconciled to God.’


Since, then, we have such a hope,  we act with great boldness.


We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ!  We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonoured!


Nevertheless, I have written to remind you more boldly on some points  because of the grace given me by God


And Isaiah says boldly, I was found by those who were not looking for me; I revealed myself to those who were not asking for me.   ,


Now the Scripture passage he was reading was this: He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.


Tell Daughter Zion, ‘See, your King is coming to you, gentle, and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’   ,


Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.


What do you want? Should I come to you with a rod,  or in love and a spirit of gentleness?


For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner  of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles #– #


Let your graciousness  be known to everyone. The Lord is near.


if indeed you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith  and are not shifted away from the hope  of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has been proclaimed in all creation  under heaven,  and I, Paul,  have become a servant of it.


I, Paul, write this with my own hand:  I will repay it #– #not to mention to you that you owe me even your very self.
