Then Solomon began  to build the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah  where the Lord   had appeared to his father David, at the site David had prepared on the threshing-floor of Ornan  the Jebusite.

So the angel of the Lord ordered Gad  to tell David to go and set up an altar to the Lord on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.


And Abraham named that place The Lord Will Provide,  so today it is said, ‘It will be provided  on the Lord’s mountain.’


‘Take your son,’ he said, ‘your only son Isaac, whom you love,  go to the land of Moriah,  and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.’


Then David said, ‘This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.’


It was Solomon, rather, who built him a house,


Johanan fathered Azariah, who served as priest in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem;


He began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.


Then the angel extended his hand towards Jerusalem to destroy it,  but the Lord relented concerning the destruction  and said to the angel who was destroying  the people, ‘Enough, withdraw your hand now! ’ The angel of the Lord was then at the threshing-floor of Araunah  the Jebusite.
