God struck down the people of Beth-shemesh because they looked inside the ark of the Lord.  , He struck down seventy persons.  The people mourned because the Lord struck them with a great slaughter.

The Kohathites are not to go in and look at the holy objects as they are covered  or they will die.’


The Lord instructed Moses, ‘Go down and warn the people not to break through to see the Lord; otherwise many of them will die.


Then the Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah,  and God struck him dead on the spot for his irreverence,  and he died there next to the ark of God.

For the time has come for judgement  to begin with God’s household,  and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?


The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children for ever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.
