Vengeance and retribution belong to me.  , In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly.’


For this reason her plagues will come in just one day – death and grief and famine. She will be burned up with fire, because the Lord God who judges   her is mighty.


And just as it is appointed for people to die once #– #and after this, judgement   #– #


Will not God grant justice   to his elect   who cry out to him day and night?   Will he delay   helping them?


a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot;


When a person dies, will he come back to life? If so, I would wait  all the days of my struggle until my relief comes.


Since a person’s days are determined and the number of his months depends on you, and since you have set   limits he cannot pass,


Isn’t each person consigned to forced labour  on earth? Are not his days like those of a hired worker?


May the Lord be judge and decide between you and me. May he take notice and plead my case and deliver  me from you.’


For we know the one who has said, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay,   , and again, The Lord will judge his people.   ,


‘May the Lord judge between me and you, and may the Lord take vengeance on you for me, but my hand will never be against you.


When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, ‘Blessed be the Lord who championed my cause against Nabal’s insults  and restrained his servant from doing evil.  The Lord brought Nabal’s evil deeds back on his own head.’ Then David sent messengers to speak to Abigail about marrying him.


Then Saul said to his armour-bearer,  ‘Draw your sword and run me through with it, or these uncircumcised men  will come and run me through and torture me! ’ But his armour-bearer would not do it because he was terrified. Then Saul took his sword and fell on it.
