A wicked ruler over a helpless people is like a roaring lion or a charging bear.


And when he learned of Mordecai’s ethnic identity, it seemed repugnant to Haman to do away with  Mordecai alone. He planned to destroy all of Mordecai’s people, the Jews,  throughout Ahasuerus’s kingdom.


Then Saul summoned all the troops to go to war at Keilah and besiege David and his men.


He also struck down Nob, the city of the priests, with the sword #– #both men and women, infants and nursing babies, oxen, donkeys, and sheep.


What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away instead of sparing the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people who are in it?


When David learned that Saul was plotting evil against him, he said to the priest Abiathar,  ‘Bring the ephod.’


Will the citizens of Keilah hand me over to him? Will Saul come down as your servant has heard? Lord God of Israel, please tell your servant.’ The Lord answered, ‘He will come down.’
